Technik: Im August 1977 stellte Mercedes-Benz die Langversion der Mittelklasse-Limousine vor: Der V 123 hatte einen um 630 Millimeter längeren Radstand (3425 mm) als die Limousine (2795 mm). Die hintere Tür war aufgrund der geänderten C-Säulen-Konfiguration aus dem Vorderteil einer Hinter- und dem Hinterteil einer Vordertür zusammengeschweißt. Die Fahrzeuglänge ermöglichte genug Platz für eine dritte Sitzbank und machte den Wagen zum bequemen Taxi, Firmen- oder Hotelwagen für sieben Passagiere. Als Langversion angeboten wurden die Modelle 250, 240 D und 300 D. Im Nahen Osten sowie auf Zypern sind diese Wagen im Taxibetrieb nach wie vor populär. LG Tom
