Vehicle description

The close connection between road and racing cars has always been a tradition in Zuffenhausen. In particular, the 911 series has been used several times in its 50-year history as a basis for racing, making the "Elfer" in its numerous modifications still considered the most successful motorsport car of all time. The fifth generation of the Porsche 911 is no exception: Based on the 996 model, which was equipped with a naturally aspirated water-cooled engine for the first time, Porsche produced a roadworthy racing car from 1999 onwards under the name 911 GT3, which made the hearts of all purists beat faster. Designed as a thoroughbred sports car based on the legendary Carrera RS models, the GT3 dispensed with all sorts of comfort features and concentrated solely on sportiness and driving characteristics. Externally, the sportiest of all 911s was modified only in nuances, and was distinguishable from its sister models above all by the striking rear wing. The six-cylinder boxer engine with 3600cc displacement, designed according to motorsport standards, produced 360 hp and transported the GT3 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds – only at just over 300 km/h was the end, making the GT3 the first eleven in the 996 series to exceed this mark. With the facelift of the series, the 911 GT3 was also revised from 2003. Visually based on the facelift of the sister models, the further development of the engine also exceeded the driving performance once again: The 911 GT3 of the second series from then on produced 381 hp and turned up to 8,200 rpm. Despite its high price, the purist sports car enjoyed great popularity, so that zuffenhausen had to subsequently increase the edition of the limited special series in order to meet the high demand. The number of units of the first series was just under 1,900 units, and was increased to just under 2,600 units in the second series.

This auction offers the opportunity to bid for a Porsche 996 GT3 of the second series. The sports car with the FIN WP0ZZZ99Z4S690959 rolled off the assembly line for the Japanese market in 2003, where it was first approved for road traffic in January 2004. A total of two vehicle owners can be found in the history of the GT3, which can be traced through various invoices and test reports. The Elfer has "matching numbers", a valuation report is not available. A new general inspection may be carried out according to the seller's specifications. The car is in accident-free condition, there are a total of two vehicle keys included.

...

The body of the sporty Elfer presents itself in the original first paint, which is kept in silver. All around the body, the GT3 is in an extraordinarily well-kept condition, and even on closer inspection it becomes clear that both vehicle owners treated the car particularly carefully. No defects can be found on the entire exterior including the striking rear wing, and even minor signs of wear such as stone chips can be found in vain on the GT3.

...

The 18-inch alloy wheels in ten-spoke design are part of the standard equipment of the GT3 edition, and also have no damage or visual defects. The mounted Michelin N2 tyres in the dimensions 235/40 ZR 18 attest to the seller's good condition. All components of the GT3 are in unmodified original condition. According to the information, the brakes perform their function properly and the Porsche is in an accident-free condition.

...

Purists are likely to enjoy the view into the interior of the GT3: Recaro bucket seats, overflow cage, six-point belts and the omission of the emergency seats in the rear clearly show the use for which the Elfer is designed. Like the exterior, the interior of the car is in excellent condition. There are no signs of wear here, even the plastic switches in the center console and the three-spoke steering wheel show no signs of wear. In order not to have to do without all comfort, the GT3 is equipped with power steering and ABS as well as central locking and electric windows.

...

At the latest when looking at the traditionally centrally mounted rev counter, the ambitions of the sporty elf become clear: Here the red range only begins from 8,000 rpm. The digital odometer shows a total mileage of 34,400km, which can be traced via various documents such as test reports and invoices. According to the information, all instruments work without restrictions.

...

In the rear is the six-cylinder engine designed in motorsport style with a displacement of 3600 cc. The water-cooled unit produces a maximum output of 381 hp. Power is transmitted puristically to the rear wheels via the manual six-speed transmission. Defects in the area of technology and engine are excluded by the seller, a pending service may be renewed according to his information. Even on the underbody, which the seller certifies a good condition, the well-kept impression of the GT3 continues. This 996 GT3 should not only make the hearts of all Porsche lovers beat faster, and in its extraordinarily well-kept condition will also offer its future owner a lot of driving pleasure.
