The BMW Z3 experienced its baptism of fire in 1995 as a product placement in the James Bond film "Goldeneye" and subsequently developed into one of the most popular sports cars of its time. Initially, it was available as a roadster, but from 1998 the series was supplemented by a coupé variant. A total of almost 300,000 units rolled off the production line at the American plant in Spartanburg – the Z3 was built exclusively there – of which almost 18,000 coupés were produced. Although initially ridiculed as a frenzied sneaker, the Z3 Coupé has now become a real classic, as such a car has not existed before or after at BMW in this way. The Z3 Coupé owes its unusual shooting brake shape – half coupé, half station wagon – to the then chief designer Chris Bangle.

A BMW Z3 Coupé 2.8i from the year of construction 2000 is now also available for auction: The example offered here is a vehicle that was newly ordered in Budapest from BMW Valais (original invoice is available) and came to Germany over the years. The car with the FIN WBACK510X0LC98185 still comes with 3 vehicle keys, a partially kept checkbook and some earlier invoices as well as TÜV reports are available for traceability of the history. Overall, the Z3 Coupé has 3 owners. TÜV owns the Z3 until July 2024, matching numbers are given according to the seller.

The BMW is kept in "Cosmos Black Metallic", a repainting of the original shade took place over the years after consultation with the seller only in a small place on the bonnet, otherwise this Z3 Coupé still impresses with its first paint. Due to the largely still first paint and the mileage of this car, smaller age-related signs of use such as minimal scratches on the body can be observed, but gross defects or even corrosion can not be found. This is mainly due to the fact that the body of this BMW has a protective film (3M). Modifications deviating from the original condition on the exterior of the Z3 are not to be found. Headlight lenses and rear lights on the BMW are undamaged and the typical BMW kidney grille at the front shows no significant stone chips. According to the seller's statements, accident damage can be ruled out.

BMW alloy wheels in the size of 17 inches are mounted on the coupé in very good condition together with tyres in good condition and sufficient tread – which, according to the seller, still have 85% of their new condition. Another 16-inch complete set of BMW wheels is added to the vehicle by the seller. The brakes are in a TÜV-compliant condition, the chassis is original and not worn.

The Z3 interior is tidy: the cockpit is in good condition – a combination of brown full leather and walnut wood can be found inside the BMW. Striking in the interior is the un worn M steering wheel and the unbroken wood veneer in the center console. There is also no other damage to be found in the interior of the Z3 Coupé, which indicates that the current owner and all previous owners have always handled this car carefully. The equipment includes central locking, power steering, electric windows, heated seats, air conditioning, ABS, Harman/Kardon sound system, Bluetooth for audio and telephone, rear parking radar, thermal glazing (3M) and a cassette radio.

In the digital speedometer, which is free of pixel errors, a mileage of approx. 251,000 kilometres can be read. An original and partially kept BMW checkbook is available and together with various former invoices and documents, the history of the Z3 can be approximately proven. All instruments must be certified to function properly.

This Z3 Coupé is equipped with a 2.8-liter in-line six-cylinder engine, which provides an output of 192 hp and transmits the power to the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission. A service has only recently been completed (in May 2022), defects in the field of technology are obviously not detectable, there is no backlog of repairs. An oil change of engine and transmission was carried out 4,000 kilometers ago, the climate was repaired in 2019.

The underbody of the BMW Z3 Coupé presents itself as a good basic substance: improperly carried out work or negative abnormalities are not objectionable here. A Z3 Coupé is a more exclusive vehicle than the Roadster, as considerably fewer units have been produced from the Coupé. The unique silhouette in combination with an in-line six-cylinder engine make this Z3 Coupé desirable – in addition, the car offered here impresses with its rich equipment and colorful interior.
