Model history:

The VW Beetle has now achieved cult status. The history of the beetle goes back a long time. The classic Beetle body shape, as we know it today, was produced from 1946. In 1953, VW began production of the Ovali Beetles. In the period from 1953 to 1957, about 300,000 vehicles were produced. The special feature of the Ovali Beetle was on the one hand the folding roof and on the other hand an enlarged rear window.

General information about the vehicle:

In this auction you now have the opportunity to bid for such a cult car. The VW Beetle Ovali folding roof from 1957 offered here has the vehicle identification number 11508482 and was imported from Sweden. The vehicle was led by more than 7 owners on the roads. According to the seller, the Beetle did not have a German TÜV, but only had one in Sweden that expired. The car has no H license plate and no registration, but is roadworthy. In addition, the VW is sold with Swedish papers.

Exterior colour/varnish/body:

In its beautiful blue paintwork, the Beetle shines on the streets. We have information that the VW was completely repainted during a partial restoration. There are also, as the pictures show, minor damage to the paint and older welds. The folding roof is in an apparent, age-appropriate good condition.

Exterior rims/brakes/chassis:

Vredestein tyres are mounted on the unmistakable "retro rims". According to information, the tires still have a decent tread, the condition is estimated at 70 to 90%. The brakes are in somewhat used condition, they are attested to a condition of 30 to 50%.

Interior:

A glance at the interior quickly reveals that time and money have been invested here. The interior has been completely renewed. Seats were upholstered in a beautiful vintage look and the carpet was also re-laid. In combination with the minimalist dashboard of the Beetle, the interior knows how to convince.

Mileage:

The mileage display shows 1617 km. However, this value is not comprehensible because there is no checkbook. It is informed that the function of the ignition lock is somewhat sluggish.

Engine:

The VW Beetle is powered by a 30 hp engine. The power is translated by a manual transmission. In April 2019, the last service was made. There is no information about defects or damage to the engine.

Subsoil:

The underside of the beetle has superficial rust and, according to the seller, is also welded. The attached pictures give a further impression of the condition of the subfloor.
