Model history
The Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 3.5 was the top model in the W109 series, which was introduced in 1965 as a new luxury class. Unlike the technically related W108, the W109 was available exclusively with a long wheelbase and standard air suspension. From 1968, the series was comprehensively revised, including new engines, modernized interior fittings, and a revised steering column. The body was designed by Paul Bracq and was based on the elegant lines of the W111 coupes. From 1969, the 3.5 V8 stood for superior performance and marked a technical high point in the model series.

Questions and Comments
LG Tom
