The W124 (saloon), T124 (station wagon), C124 (coupe) and A124 (convertible) models branched out of the Mercedes-Benz 124 model series. In September 1991, the Mercedes Convertible in the form of the 300 CE – 24V was presented to the public at the IAA in Frankfurt. This vehicle was advertised as a 4-seater year-round convertible and the comfortable character of the vehicle was put in the foreground. Initially, this model was only available with the 3.0-liter 4-valve in-line six-cylinder, with the facelift in 1993 successively further 4-valve engines were introduced. Starting with the 3.2-liter in-line six-cylinder and 220 hp – which replaced the 3.0 – 24 V – up to the 4-cylinder 2.0-liter 4-cylinder with 136 hp. The engines were coupled to a 4-speed automatic transmission and, for an additional charge, to a 5-speed automatic transmission, the rear wheels were always driven. A special safety feature were the rear single roll bars, which extend at lightning speed in the event of an imminent rollover, outwardly resembling head restraints. Production ended in 1997 after a total quantity of almost 34,000 units. Of these, 11,463 were E 320 Convertibles.

According to the US CarFax, the E 320 Convertible offered here has 4 previous owners and was first registered in the United States in July 1995. In Germany, the vehicle was registered by the previous owner to obtain the German papers. The beautiful convertible is of course ready to drive and currently not approved. Due to its age, the Benz does not yet have an H license plate. Since May of this year, the convertible has created TÜV and on request a Classic Data certificate. A well-kept checkbook is available. The seller states on that the car in his possession is accident-free. As you can see from the photos of the vehicle, this upcoming classic is in very good condition.

This convertible is painted in a beautiful smoke silver metallic (color code 702). There are no modifications on the outside, no rust, no dents, no damage. The fender on the left was partially repainted, according to the seller.

The Swabian noble speedster rolls through the country on summer tires, which are mounted on original 16-inch aluminum rims in 8-hole design. The brakes are in good condition. As the pictures prove beyond doubt, the entire underbody is in excellent condition, neither here nor on the chassis there are modifications or tinkering or other changes.

If you go inside the car, the first thing you have to do is feel good. The black leather harmonises wonderfully with the exterior colour. Everything looks noble and high-quality, the interior is underlined by the typical root wood applications. The icing on the cake are the equipment details such as air conditioning, electric windows, side mirrors and seat adjustment. The whole thing is rounded off by cruise control. The old radio was exchanged for a slightly newer one. All in all, the interior presents itself in good condition and shows only age-appropriate traces of use.

The mileage of this 4-seater dream convertible for sun-seekers is only 88,500 miles - so 142,426 kilometers. These can be explained beyond doubt on the basis of the maintenance booklet and existing invoices. The instruments work perfectly.

Installed is the Dreamlike and its power of 220 hp linearly emitting, 3.2 liter large 4-valve in-line six-cylinder. This engine is coupled with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The rear wheels are driven. Only recently, various wear parts were renewed. There are also no defects in the area of engine/technology.

The extensive documentation proves the vehicle history. There is absolutely nothing left to do with the super speedster from Untertürkheim. Buy, allow, drive off. And just enjoy.
